The happy meal!

He came to pick me up at office( I always dreamed for a scene like this, someone waiting to pick me up from work :) )

yep, I'm here. pack up and come down.

I thought I was done with my work, but I wasn't

I say, rather cautiously..mmmm I'm not done with my work. Meanwhile, why don't you got u McD and get me a happy meal, its the Kungu fu Panda toy these days! I want one.

Kidding? nope, I can't.

( I knew he wouldn't go, but what do i lose in trying)

it was only after 30 mins that I could wrap up my work and meet him.

He was there with his smile (again) and my bike

I get on the bike saying dropping the weight off my shoulders.. I'm too tired (i kept him waiting for 30 mins I couldn't come up with anything better)

as we drive .. I convey the message - I'm starving, please keep checking for me, I might faint and drop off the bike.

He stops the bike and says .. Just because you said you are going to faint, I'm giving you.. He turned around..

And there was my happy meal with the kid Poh toy with his toy!!

:)

Delighted!
Me

P.S. Later he says.... by the way, there was a cold drink too, I had it.

Krishanastami

When he saw me in the evening, he gave me a kiss. After running around he said "Pe, mama do do do", which translates to, I want to watch the cartoon baby shark, please. How in the world will I not oblige. The plea continued more than a few times, each time followed by the rerun of "baby shark do do do".

After his dinner, he was ready for a bath and bed. He is not a fan of bath and just waits for the right time to signal his dad that he is "all done". He got dressed and ready for bed. The lights were turned off.

After a few minutes, he slides down from the bed, manages to find the door knob and open the door and leaves the room.He enters the room where I was folding his laundry and notices a pajama with penguins on it. He signals for the pajama, by making sure he adds ample of  "Pe"'s in the request. I oblige. He tries to put it on him and gets excited when I join to help him.
He doesn't let his dad or me touch them penguins, tickles the…

My son turned 18 months

today and I would like to share a story of him, a story that is closer to my heart than the closest rib. We flew to India in November of last year to introduce the rest of the family to Vedh and to celebrate his birthday. For reasons I hate to acknowledge, Vedh and I had to fly back leaving behind Sravan. The minute it was just the two of us, I knew this journey was going to be anything but easy. He was possibly the best one yo one could fly with but then he was an one yo. All through the journey I didn't get to eat or take a nap or pee and to top it off I went through an excruciating two hours long immigration line with Vedh in the baby carrier, because he wouldn't sit in the stroller, and a backpack and a hand luggage and an empty stroller. We finally reached the Kansas City flight's gate and had a hour before the flight took off. After doing a mental calculation of the last time he had eaten, we went to the tiny bakery near the gate and got a slice of carrot cake, becau…

An article from TOI - Srirangam: Gateway to Heaven

So, after a long break, the newspaper boy surprised us by delivery the newspaper(TOI) one wintry morning. The below is one of the article of that day's TOI's edition.
Srirangam: Gateway to Heaven To devotees, particularly Vaishnavites, the Ranganathaswamy temple at Srirangam near Trichy in Tamil Nadu is their sacred gateway to heaven.

Among the 108 temples in south India that are of utmost importance to Vaishnavites, Srirangam tops the list. Here, Vaishnavai saint Godha Devi is believed to have merged with the idol and attained salvation. According to legend the idol rose up from the celestial Milky Ocean. It is a large, monolithic black statue of Vishnu, reclining on Adisesha, the divine serpent. It was received by Brahma and left in his custody till Vishnu as Rama gave it to Vibheesana, the noble brother of the slain demon king Ravana.

Vibheesana wished to carry it back to Sri Lanka. Rama told him that it was not to be placed down under any circumstances. Vibheesana …
